Armor Up! A Weekly Series

The Staff at the Rosecrance Florian Program

Safe Call Now headed into the week working with Jay Dobyns to launch his “Catching Hell” national training series as multiple requests from around the country are coming in asking for this specific training as well as the award winning “Emotional Body Armor” series.  Illinois, Wyoming, Texas, Washington, Kentucky, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, Connecticut and Oklahoma all made formal inquires this week.

It was off to the “Windy City” of Chicago to partner up with the Rosecrance Florian Program lead by Dan DeGryse and Lisa Primm.  They’re just doing outstanding work treating first responders, have a solid treatment program and team.  Their program is staffed by a mix of first responder therapist along with outstanding civilian staff that make for a very unique and effective team that deliver a level of care that exceeds standards in the first responder population.  Safe Call Now is also partnering up with Roscrance to train nationally and take part in their upcoming symposium.

What is really impressive and also sets them apart from the rest of the country is their ability to treat the juvenile children of first responders ages 13 to 20 in both the mental health and substance arenas.  The children of the first responders are sometimes left behind and Rosecrance has filled this much needed gap.  To be able to treat primary mental health issues in our children without having a substance abuse diagnosis and have insurance cover the costs is almost unheard of.  This really exciting news, our children are no longer left behind.

We also had the opportunity to spend time with Rose and Rob Casale from our partners over at Serve & Protect.  We’ve always had a special relationship with them and I don’t think you’ll find two more passionate individuals that are dedicated to helping first responders and their family members.  They are taking over treatment aftercare for all first responders and their family members nationwide.  We also met with our dear friend John Ward (Secretary) of the Metropolitan Alliance of Police.  John has always been an advocate for his membership and their family members and we were able to solidify training, treatment and health and wellness events with the Metropolitan Alliance of Police in 2018.

The Spokane, WA Police Department made their official announcement that they are going to implement our Safe Call Now continuum of care for their personnel and family members.  Exciting times as an agency has stepped up to be a national leader in taking the lead on the health and wellness of their department.  This effort is being led by Captain Brad Arleth who has always been a driving force and a national leader and advocate for police personnel and their family members.

Off to Los Angeles this week to change and save lives
