Armor Up! A Weekly Series

CEO Joseph Hunter, M.A. - Cycles of Change

Safe Call Now was off to Palmdale, CA this week to visit with Cycles of Change and met with an incredible staff.  What struck me immediately was their CEO Joseph Hunter, M.A. and his view on life, how he prepares his staff and how that translates to providing the most outstanding services to our first responders and their family members.  What really sets them apart is their ability to focus on healing the entire family and not just the impacted client.  He’s right, if the whole system isn’t treated it will break down again.  Their unique multiple modalities of treatment demonstrates to me that they’re not a “one size fits all” type of therapy and that the individual is truly placed first.  Clinical staff relates to clients on a “human” level which is a special gift in this arena.  They have dedicated facilities specific for first responders in California and have an office in Las Vegas as well.

Cycles of Change in conjunction with Safe Call Now offers a "FREE FAMILY PROGRAM" for first responders as well. Stress. Anxiety. Fear. Helplessness. Anger. Combine these emotions with mounting expenses related to property damage, legal trouble and hospital bills, and it’s easy to understand why family members often begin to feel hostile or resentful toward their loved ones.

“We believe that the family suffers just as much as the person that is affected. One of the things that sets us apart is that we are very family focused – we concentrate on getting the whole entire family to recover".

Safe Call Now also launched in Partnership with Rosecrance its “Teen Program” this week.  This is a gap in the healthcare system that’s been overlooked for far too long.  Let's get honest after recent events, sometimes our children struggle. Whether it be with anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance abuse or complex issues they can suffer just like the rest of us. They don't have to as we have a program specifically designed for their needs ages 13-20. Our children deserve this help. For more info and immediate help call:

Armor Up! A Weekly Series

The Staff at the Rosecrance Florian Program

Safe Call Now headed into the week working with Jay Dobyns to launch his “Catching Hell” national training series as multiple requests from around the country are coming in asking for this specific training as well as the award winning “Emotional Body Armor” series.  Illinois, Wyoming, Texas, Washington, Kentucky, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, Connecticut and Oklahoma all made formal inquires this week.

It was off to the “Windy City” of Chicago to partner up with the Rosecrance Florian Program lead by Dan DeGryse and Lisa Primm.  They’re just doing outstanding work treating first responders, have a solid treatment program and team.  Their program is staffed by a mix of first responder therapist along with outstanding civilian staff that make for a very unique and effective team that deliver a level of care that exceeds standards in the first responder population.  Safe Call Now is also partnering up with Roscrance to train nationally and take part in their upcoming symposium.

What is really impressive and also sets them apart from the rest of the country is their ability to treat the juvenile children of first responders ages 13 to 20 in both the mental health and substance arenas.  The children of the first responders are sometimes left behind and Rosecrance has filled this much needed gap.  To be able to treat primary mental health issues in our children without having a substance abuse diagnosis and have insurance cover the costs is almost unheard of.  This really exciting news, our children are no longer left behind.

We also had the opportunity to spend time with Rose and Rob Casale from our partners over at Serve & Protect.  We’ve always had a special relationship with them and I don’t think you’ll find two more passionate individuals that are dedicated to helping first responders and their family members.  They are taking over treatment aftercare for all first responders and their family members nationwide.  We also met with our dear friend John Ward (Secretary) of the Metropolitan Alliance of Police.  John has always been an advocate for his membership and their family members and we were able to solidify training, treatment and health and wellness events with the Metropolitan Alliance of Police in 2018.

The Spokane, WA Police Department made their official announcement that they are going to implement our Safe Call Now continuum of care for their personnel and family members.  Exciting times as an agency has stepped up to be a national leader in taking the lead on the health and wellness of their department.  This effort is being led by Captain Brad Arleth who has always been a driving force and a national leader and advocate for police personnel and their family members.

Off to Los Angeles this week to change and save lives

Armor Up! - A New Weekly Series

Armor Up!

Safe Call Now capped off another outstanding week by presenting its national award winning “Emotional Body Armor” Training at the Bend City, Oregon Police Department.  Agencies from across the region and all public safety professions attended along with their spouses.  It was a really special event.  What really impressed us here at Safe Call Now are the measures and great lengths that Bend PD is going too, to not only save the lives of their personnel but to keep them happy and healthy.  They are truly national trailblazers in the industry.  Here’s what they’re saying about the training…

"I recently attended the #EmotionalBodyArmor Training at the City of Bend Police Department. This class is relevant, provocative, fun and challenging for police, fire, dispatch, corrections, parole, probation, spouses and significant others. You owe it to yourselves and loved ones to attend this amazing class." -Tom Hietala- Bend, OR Training Officer #EndTheSuffering

Safe Call Now was also excited to launch along with the Institute for Responder Wellness and Premier Wellness Solutions this week our combined #EndTheSuffering campaign for first responders, retirees and their family members.  This was overwhelmingly received in a positive manner and people from around the country have been reaching out for help after viewing it on social media.  It has already resulted in the saving of lives and 7 first responders made the brave decision to enter inpatient treatment.

The other exciting news is that during our trainings we are now able to provide all attendees with a “simple solution and pathway into a very complex healthcare system" right from the palm of their hand that we developed and are able to “live time” interact with the participants.  The attendees loved it.  Once you leave one of our conferences you have everything in the palm of your hand to stay healthy, get help, save your life, someone you know or a loved one, 24/7 nationwide.

We're off to Chicago this week to go save some more lives.

Stay safe and Armor Up!!!
